  • Timotay Landscapes Shortlisted to Compete in this Year’s APL Avenue Show Garden Competition at BBC Gardeners’ World Live

Each of the contenders at this year’s APL Avenue Show Garden competition at BBC Gardeners’ World Live were tasked with creating an inspirational, aspirational but relatable garden at the show, which was held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Timotay Landscapes has been awarded a silver merit at BBC Gardener’s World, reflecting its expertise, passion and desire to create inspirational outdoor spaces.

Timotay celebrated its 30th year in 2017, and continue with its award-winning year, having also won a Gold and Silver Award from the Association of Professional Landscapers in March.

Timotay Landscapes employs a team of 70 and is based in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, with investments recently made in manufacturing facilities.

Designer, Robyn Brookes, is overjoyed at winning a silver merit award at this years’ prestigious BBC Gardeners’ World Live Show.

Her award-winning design was aimed at young families, extending their living space through to the garden, and featured an outdoor cinema, pizza oven and a canopied play platform, and was created to be entertaining for the whole family.

Tim Ellwood, director at Timotay Landscapes, said: “Our team have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we impressed with our design, build and creativity. Our ultimate goal was to create an outdoor space that is inspirational – but most importantly, achievable to all, and especially to the 88,000 visitors at BBC Gardeners’ World.”

The competition was made up of four other landscaping companies from Hertfordshire, Sussex, Lancashire and Worcestershire.

Bob Sweet, horticultural director of BBC Gardeners’ World Live, said: “We have no doubt that each of the five finalists will offer visitors of the show a great deal of take-home ideas, while showcasing what incredible designers and landscapers they are in their own right.”

BBC Gardeners’ World Live took place from Thursday 14 to Sunday 17 June at the NEC and attracted around 88,000 visitors.

The Show Garden Assessment Panel, which included RHS Chelsea Flower Show TV host Lesley Kerr OBE, alongside a public vote, will decide who takes home the accolade of Best APL Avenue Show Garden.
